JH Volleyball Summer practice schedule

Union Star 6th Grade recently completed the DeKalb County Junior Deputy Program. The program was originally created by Sheriff Andy Clark and is intended to teach students basic CPR, fire safety, drug awareness, and emergency management knowledge. The course was completed over a span of eight weeks and was primarily instructed by Deputy Oulman, who was assisted by other DeKalb County Deputies.

JH Girls - Tied for 5th Place Overall
Remie - 2nd in 200M Dash and 5th in High Jump
Braelynn - 3rd in the Long Jump and 5th in the 100M Dash
Remie, Hailynn, Enslee, & Braelynn - 3rd in the 4 x 100M Relay
Ember - 5th in the Discus
Zachary - 1st in the Discus and 5th in the Shot Put
Aaron - 5th in the High Jump
Kort - 5th in the 100M Hurdles
Brock, Brayden, Jakson, & Colton - 4th in the 4 x 200M Relay

Starting April 3rd, Mrs. Young’s First Grade class began the process of incubating a group of chicken eggs. The first chick hatched on April 23rd and hatched a total of 9 chicks.
First grade had a lot of fun with this project! The students enjoyed watching the eggs hatch and getting to play with the baby chicks on the carpet.










Congratulations to Zachary Hodge for winning the junior high discus throw at the 275 Conference Meet.

The JH and HS 275 Conference Track Meet has been moved up tomorrow due to incoming inclement weather. The bus will leave at 8:10am with field events starting at 10am and running events starting at noon.
Delaney Hontz earned a Gold rating today for her Alto Saxophone Solo at the state music festival. Congratulations to Delaney and Mr. Park.

Tonight's JH track meet at Worth County is postponed until Thursday, May 2nd.
The baseball game for tonight has been cancelled. Practice at 3:30pm inside at the high school.
The baseball game tonight (4/23) will now be played at Hopkins due to field conditions. Bus will leave at 2:30pm.
District Track will be at King City on May 4th. All tickets for the event must be purchased online at https://www.mshsaa.org/Tickets.aspx.

Kindergarten and Second Grade are doing a combined study on plant life by growing grass in our classrooms!
