Huge congratulations are in order for two of our talented musicians who represented Union Star High School today at the Missouri State Music Festival!
Both students traveled to the University of Missouri to showcase their talent and dedication under the guidance of Mr. Park. We are so proud of the results they brought home:
Delaney Hontz: Received a Gold Rating for her Alto Saxophone Solo.
Allison Stone: Earned a Bronze Rating for her Tenor Saxophone Solo.
Success at the state level is a direct reflection of the countless hours of practice and passion these students pour into their craft. We would also like to thank Mr. Park for his unwavering support and leadership in helping our students reach their full potential.

FFA Awards Night
During the April 2026 Board of Education meeting, the Union Star R-II School District honored outgoing member Mel Simerly for his 12 years of service to the board. Simerly received a plaque from Superintendent Rick Calloway in appreciation for his years of service, the most recent of which he held the position of board president.
